Child Dedication

November 4

Event Navigation

The Bible says that a child is a blessing from God.  When you decide to dedicate your son or daughter, you are acknowledging the awesome responsibility God has given you in raising your child.  A dedication is a ceremony that expresses your desire as parents to raise your son or daughter in the ways of the Bible and to ask God to use your son or daughter for His purposes.  You submit your will for your child to His will.

A dedication will have three emphases:

1 – The blessing of the child.  The word “blessing” simply means favor.  We are asking God to grant His favor upon the children.

2 – A consecration of the parents.  The word “consecration” means to set apart for God’s ministry.

3 – A consecration of the congregation.  The congregation will be called upon to be the child’s spiritual family for nurture and support.

Child dedications are a part of our Sunday morning church worship. For more information, or to arrange to have your child included in the next dedication, contact the Church Office (763-682-1470).
