Jesus: Addressing a Crisis of Faith

January 27, 2019 Max Frazier Series: The Thread of Redemption

Jesus is on His way back home following His baptism. Before He arrives home, He visits Cana. Jesus is approached by a distraught father whose son is near death. Jesus tells the man what he wants to hear, but will the man obey? That is a crisis of faith.  Jesus then enters into the synagogue in Nazareth. He reads the scripture, makes comment upon it that causes the people to turn against Him. This is a crisis of faith. Finally, Jesus goes back to Jerusalem where He encounters a paralytic man lying beside the Pool of Bethesda. Jesus challenges this man to get up and walk. But will he? This is a crisis of faith. Whenever we face those moments when our faith is challenged, what do we do? Do we rely upon our own instincts, or do we trust the words of Jesus?
