BCC will once again be partnering with Praying Pelican Missions for a short-term mission trip to Meadow Bridge, West Virginia, where we will be working and ministering with the Southern Calvary Baptist Church. This will be a great opportunity to serve and to share the Gospel with the people of Appalachia! Socks & Shoes For Souls July 10-July 24 // Commons Our Socks & Shoes for Souls drive begins July 10 and we’ll be collecting new or gently-used shoes for those in need in Appalachia. We’d love to also give out new socks along with the shoes! The 2022 Mission Team will bring them when they go to West Virginia in August, and kid’s shoes and socks will be especially welcome to have for VBS. Collection boxes will be in the commons – help us bless the Meadow Bridge community this year! MISSION TRIP INFORMATION DATES: August 5-12, 2022 LOCATION: Meadow Bridge, West Virginia WHO CAN GO: Anyone who has a heart for serving the people of Appalachia is welcome. This is also a great opportunity for families! Families with kids over the age of eight (accompanied by a parent) are encouraged to join us. THE FOCUS: There are many needs among the people of Appalachia. Alcoholism and drug abuse is very high. The annual income in this area is well below the poverty level. There are many physical and spiritual needs among the people. THE MISSION DETAILS: We will be working with Pastor Aaron from Calvary Baptist Church in Meadow Bridge, West Virginia. We will participate in “Homecoming” festivities in Meadow Bridge, giving away shoes and other items to the folks in this area. We will also help residents with small construction projects, if needed, along with hosting VBS at the church. ACCOMMODATIONS: Bunkhouse at the church (divided by men and women) includes bunkbeds, bathroom and showers in each half, and air conditioning. Please bring your own bedding.
