DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRY
The Director of Music Ministry at Buffalo Covenant Church will create a culture of authentic worship, encouraging a body of believers in Jesus Christ to respond to who God is and what He has done. He or she will also champion the Music Ministry as part of the larger mission of Buffalo Covenant Church: to glorify God by being disciples, who make disciples of Jesus Christ.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a growing faith, a passion for Jesus Christ, a love for people, and a heart that desires to see God’s people become authentic worshippers of God.
- Experience and skill coordinating and working with instrumentalists, vocalists, and building worship teams.
- Skilled vocally and/or instrumentally and experienced in leading worship.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in an applicable field of study preferred.
- Interpersonal skills that include a positive attitude, high personal integrity, excellent communication, the ability to gain trust and respect, an ability to mediate differences and work well on a team.
- Experience with volunteer management, including recruitment, training, and coaching.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership in varied styles of corporate worship: including oversight and development of instrumentalists, vocalists, worship leaders and collaboration with sound team, media techs, communications and facility teams as needed.
- Cultivate a ministry that engages all aspects of the arts to strengthen corporate worship, through music, drama, video and additional creative elements.
- Prayerfully allow the Holy Spirit to lead in worship designed to tell God’s story of salvation, support the theme being expressed in each service in full agreement with BCC’s theology.
- Develop, plan, promote and oversee current worship elements that include but are not limited to: worship teams and choir, children and youth participation, groups and ensembles, youth worship team, drama performances, seasonal celebrations, funeral ministry, etc.
- Understand and endorse a Faith@Home ministry to produce and communicate resources that will encourage families to worship throughout the week.
- Create and manage the Music Ministry budget.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to the shared leadership of the Senior Pastor and the Executive Director
- Oversees all worship teams: vocalists, instrumentalists, and supporting roles.
- Work collaboratively with all church staff.
